Medical Marijuana Industry and Political News

Though not industry related, weGrow wants to extend our sympathies to all of those involved in last night’s tragedy in Aurora, Colorado.  It is truly horrifying that such an act took place, and our thoughts are with all who were affected. We hope those injured have a speedy recovery and that no more are lost to this event.

ASA Protests Obama: Next Monday, those in the San Francisco area can join with the Americans for Safe access to protest the federal attacks and raids on the medical marijuana industry during Obama’s visit. From ASA:

Americans for Safe Access join Harborside Health Center, Oaksterdam University, California NORML, and others are calling for a peaceful protest to let the President know we want him to stop the federal attack!

Illegal Marijuana Growers Threaten Endangered Species: According to a study by UC Davis, marijuana growers who are moving their plants further into natural habitats to hide their illicit activities. They treat irrigation lines with rodenticide to keep away nibbling rats. Fishers, native forrest carnivores, then eat these infected rats – 79% of fisher carcasses were found to have rodenticide in them. Regulation could keep growers from moving into these habitats and harming its inhabitants. Read more at the Marijuana Policy Project.

Plans for MMJ Industry Conference in Full Swing: Medical Marijuana Business Daily’s Medical Marijuana Conference is coming up this November and the bill of speakers keeps growing.
